Tips and Advise

In case your pet passes before genetic preservation, there's still hope. Collect tissue as a biopsy sample promptly. Time is crucial—the longer the delay, the lower the chance of success.

Follow our guidelines for best results.

In unforeseen circumstances where your pet passes away before genetic preservation or biopsy collection, it's still possible to preserve their genetic material by gathering necessary tissues as a biopsy sample. However, it's crucial to note that the longer the time elapsed since the animal's passing, the lower the chances of successful preservation. Follow these guidelines for genetic preservation:

  1. Refrain from disinfecting the sample area before collection to prevent skin damage.

  2. If iodine was used for sterilization, cleanse the area with alcohol to remove any residue.

  3. Place the sample in a sealed container and maintain a temperature between 0-4°C.

  4. Avoid using saline throughout the process.

  5. Do not freeze the sample, as it may reduce the likelihood of successful preservation.

  6. Send the biopsy sample within 6 days to maximize preservation potential.
